happy new year!

9 12 days late but still wanted to wish ya'll the best!

2013 was a year full of greatness. recap of it all.

january : hit up the pasadena rose bowl parade. slept on the street corner, made great friends, had a bomb breakfast burrito made by my hubby + shawn. will definitely do this again.

february : one of my favorite traditions. valentine's day themed dates! greek style took the cake! more details here.

march : 2 year anniversary! our annual spring training trip with about 20 of our college best friends.

april : my birthday month! smash + jordan came out + we celebrated all three of us. it was a blast to say the least!

may : one word - CABO!

june : the LLS campaigned wrapped up. what an incredible team + journey to be apart of. this gal won woman of the year in our hearts. (me + brim @ a LLS pub crawl to raise money!) then me + trav @ LLS gala.

july : 4th of july in prescott, az for nana + papa's annual party. pit stop @ grand canyon where we got engaged!

august : AFRICA!

september : mom's birthday + 20 years @ ICLV! what a ministry this woman has!

october: trav's birthday + finding out about TINY BABY HARPS.

november : thanksgiving in vegas + grandpapa's wedding.

december : our neice gracie was born! the holidays in az + tahoe. so wonderful!

this year was awesome. lots of weddings, babies + tons of blessings! we are so excited about 2014 cause of our sweet #tinybabyharps arrival in june. in the mean time, be looking forward to some serious blogging here.

happy 2 year anniversary!

i cannot believe 2 years of marriage have happened! it felt like yesterday when we were @ APU together, just being buds! then i emailed you, we fell in love + here we are!

i could not have asked for a better person to do life with. travy, you make my heart explode! i love being your wife, best friend, girlfriend + mostly, chicken {lol}. life would be SO dull without you in it i could not imagine writing chapters to our book with anyone but you. i am so thankful for the husband you are, the man that righteously pursues the Lord + me daily. thank you for being an example of a hard-working, selfless, extravagantly sexy + loving husband.

rose bowl party

we did it! we braved the cold, the crazy crowds and had an incredible experience at the rose bowl parade!

10am (NYE): the streets open for people to start setting up their "spots" at  new years eve! 

3pm (NYE): i called trav while i was at the mall (he was on his way back from hunting) and we decided to do the camp out! so as you can imagine, the streets were full!

3:30-4pm: we didn't let that crush our dreams! we found our spot (3 blocks up from our place) and set up by 4! we met the kindest family next to us and had quite the adventure.



around 7/8pm: my sexy husband reppin' '13! 

 

around 7/8pm: me lookin homeless! 

midnight: kissed + celebrated on the streets with thousands of others! tortillas flying, marshmallows mid air, and horns blaring!

2am: shaun + salina arrived. i was half asleep on our blow up mattress and asked salina if she rather sleep in our cozy bed. us girls headed three blocks down the street and snuggled while the guys braved it on the streets! (love you baby! thanks for the sacrifice!)

7am: my man cooking breakfast burritos. him + shane made other husbands/fiances look like chumps!

7:45am: me + salina trying to keep our front row seats while eating our breakfast burritos!

8:30ish: after fighting some people away, we were still front row!

one of my favorite moments! salina is from wisconsin (and is a huge fan). the float was stopped in front of us for a couple minutes. salina ran into the middle of the street and got a good shot with the wisconsin float! what a die hard fan ;)

10:30am: the last float! rose parade float!

the four warriors!
trav, me, salina + shaun! salina + shaun are engaged and are tying the knot in June! we could not be more excited for the two of them! it was such a fun experience. thanks to them, we have memories to last us a lifetime! love you (soon to be) lane's! 

my parents spontaneously came out for the parade too! what sweeties they are. they drove from vegas to san diego new years eye night to get auntie + uncle. woke up at 5am new years day to make it in time to the parade! what gems. love them.

christmas vacation: vegas/brian head style.

Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year (welcome to the club right?!). the birth of Jesus. being with family. eating incredible meals around the table. laughing. opening gifts. drinking hot toddy's (oppps!), i meant hot coco's ;).

we were able to take a couple extra days off and head up to vegas early. here is a little re-cap of an incredible time in vegas + utah! (warning: there are a lot of pix!)

some cuddle time by fire place! loved every minute with the thompson's!

back in vegas! got our hot coco + bailey's and hit the water show. (this is one of mine+trav's favorite spots ever. he asked me to be his gf at olives - a restaurant that overlooks the water show {insert awwwww :) } ).

bellagio has the most beautiful Christmas decor.

my mom's first experience at bass pro shops (an outdoorsman's paradise)! it's one for the books! proud of you mama g. you handled that store + showed it whose boss!

now it's christmas morning! london got a bike! watch out world!

jet is just happy to be a michigan fan! he loved eating the wrapping paper too :)

christmas dinner with our family, the sacca's! could eat every meal in this gorgeous home!

game night! this got a little heated between some couples (who will remain annoymous), but was a wonderful way to wrap up the weekend!

as you can tell, it was a full week, with no dull moments! from basketball games, to snow, to hot dates, to quality family time, to shopping, to games, to presents, to family! one of my favorite christmas' yet!

scavenger {love} hunt

i told trav i wanted to take him on a date saturday morning. so i did.

i planned a scavenger hunt {6} months ago. i had to put my plan to action finally. here's how it went down.

he received his first clue with his coffee... {at home}

it told him to go to the place where it all started... {hint: i go there everyday}

it all started in a certain building called wilden. it's where we had 2 classes our Senior year. the clues talked of having the classes together and thinking he was a total babe!

 the {secret hint} then led him to an APU favorite: donut man. 

 

us getting down on our tiger tailz. yum! next clue: i gave him the address and told him this is how our love traveled the world... {totally tricked him on this one!}

he landed at delong's. delong's is THE place where we designed our senior shirts {the ones where he, noel and i designed and no one bought. lol}. it ended up being the way we communicated after we graduated. anywhere we would travel, the three of us would take a picture in our senior shirts and email them to each other. 

the next clue hinted that it's a place where we fed our sweet tooth. 

 

of course we hit up 21 choices {best fro yo in the world!}. unfortunately, they didn't get the memo so it was closed. we didn't want it anyway. 

the clue trav got at 21 basically said, this is where God has brought us from. i never want to forget the journey He had us on and continues to lead us on daily. just wanted to create a little fun scavenger hunt to keep it fresh + fun!

this scavenger hunt is a huge part of our love story. it's fun to be reminded of God's faithfulness. never lose sight of Him.
